How to detect if there is a leak in the Mold Water Transport Joint?

Publish Time: 2024-08-21
Mold Water Transport Joint plays a vital role in the cooling system of the mold. Once a leakage problem occurs, it will not only affect the normal operation of the mold, but may also cause production accidents and product quality problems. Therefore, it is crucial to detect whether the Mold Water Transport Joint has a leakage problem in time.

1. Appearance inspection method

First, a simple appearance inspection can be performed. Observe whether there are obvious water stains, wetness or water droplets on the joints, sealing parts and surrounding areas of the Mold Water Transport Joint. If these signs are found, there is a high probability of leakage. In addition, you can also check whether there are cracks, deformations or damage on the surface of the joint, which may also cause leakage.

2. Pressure test method

Pressure test is a more accurate detection method. After the mold water supply system is connected, increase the water pressure in the system and observe the changes in pressure. If the pressure remains stable for a period of time, it means that there is no leakage in the system; if the pressure gradually decreases, there is a high probability of a leakage point. When performing a pressure test, professional pressure testing equipment such as a pressure gauge and a pressure test pump can be used. First, connect the pressure test pump to the inlet of the mold water supply system, gradually increase the water pressure to a certain value, then turn off the pressure test pump and observe the changes in the pressure gauge reading. If the pressure drops quickly, it means there is a big leak; if the pressure drops slowly, there may be a tiny leak.

3. Bubble detection method

Bubble detection method is also a commonly used detection method. After the mold water supply system is filled with water, observe whether there are bubbles coming out of the joint. If there are bubbles coming out, it means there is a leak. This method can be performed when the system is running or static. When the system is running, the location of the leak can be determined by observing the bubbles in the water flow; when it is static, the joint can be immersed in water to observe whether there are bubbles coming out.

4. Sound detection method

When there is a leak in the Mold Water Transport Joint, some abnormal sounds may be produced. You can use a stethoscope or other sound detection equipment, close to the joint, and listen for water flow, hissing or other abnormal sounds. If you hear these sounds, there is a high probability of a leak.

In short, it is necessary to use a combination of multiple methods to detect whether the Mold Water Transport Joint has a leak. In actual operation, you can choose the appropriate detection method according to the specific situation, find and solve the leak in time, and ensure the normal operation of the mold water supply system and the smooth progress of production.
